I have lost several family members to cancer but some were victorious and are survivors. Hodgekins, breast cancer and lung cancer have taken my family members, the worst of course being my Dad, who had lung cancer. His journey was short and he chose to have quality of life with his family, not treatment with so many bad side effects. The left lower lobe of his lung was removed in November 1992. He went for his postop visit in February 1993 and it was found in his right lung. He never complained of having pain and was on oxygen 24/7 toward the end. I admire him so much as he was truly a fighter. He passed away in October 1993.
It is so important to share these stories so people can be aware of how prevalent this dreaded disease is and hopefully a cure can be found soon.
